Testimonials
“Your prep was great! It has helped a lot, and I feel like I am familiar with weight room etiquette and some of the lifts they have us do. The trainers have us do inverted rows very often, so I am extremely happy you taught me how to do them properly! We also do a lot of core work, and I use the foam roller everyday
The weight training room is amazing with all the cool machines, and the atmosphere is really motivating. I recently back-squatted 105 lbs. five consecutive times, so I feel I am making some progress. I could barely lift the bar a month ago!”

“While we have only trained a handful of times I am very pleased with the direction we are going. Roy, you are definitely one of the most knowledgeable trainers I have ever worked with, and I have worked with at least 10 in my training career. The fact that you are constantly focused on my correct form, watching for my current deficiencies and working with them is such a benefit. There are ‘trainers’ and then there are ‘qualified trainers’. You obviously fall into the latter. I came to you because I didn’t want the run of the mill gym trainer. I wanted excellence and professionalism. I wanted experience and expertise. You have all of those characteristics. It is obvious that you have a passion for training and doing what is best for your clients. I look forward to this adventure and to my improved structure and fitness.”

“Roy Khoury is my boot camp instructor. He provides varying workouts that are addicting. We look forward to what each day will bring. Roy truly cares about each woman in the camp and is always encouraging each of us to do the best we can. For anyone that is worried about not being able to keep up or that they might not be good enough, Roy always is looking for ways to modify a specific exercise to each person’s needs. He cares about our soreness and is always making sure to keep it safe to avoid injuries. It is NEVER boring at one of Roy’s sessions. He keeps it fun but also brings a maturity to his responsibility and even as older women we feel totally comfortable under his guidance and care. He will not hesitate to answer any question we might throw at him. You know you have found a good fit for an exercise routine when you can keep it up morning after morning, session after session and look forward to the next one.”

“I have over 20 years experience in the weightlifting area. Having been a competitive bodybuilder in my earlier days, I considered myself quite experienced in the area of fitness. Well, meeting a professional like Roy taught me that everything I thought I knew really wasn’t what I thought it was. As a result of Roy’s astute understanding of how the body moves and functions, my training is now shorter, more effective, and more closely linked to “functional” movements that carry over to daily life. Where I used to do more bicep curls, now I understand how to effectively work the biceps and back muscles and my core all at the same time. Where I used to do isolation work for my quads, now I understand how to effectively work the quads and glutes and hamstrings AND core at the same time. All the while I am pushing heavier weights, with less joint pain and getting stronger. None of this would be possible were it not for a scholar of movement like Roy Khoury. Combining his consistent follow up to ensure you are on track along with his inherent desire for you to succeed and easy to understand training method all add up to a great experience. If you’re a 40 something (or whatever age) athlete/enthusiast looking to improve results, minimize or work around injuries then Roy is the “Go to guy.” I highly recommend his mentoring and coaching in the area of athletic and physical endeavor.”

“I had recurrent back pain from a herniated L4-L5 disk and needed periodic physical therapy to alleviate it. After I started working out with Roy my pain mostly went away and I didn’t need physical therapy. I attribute it to core work and Roy’s care in pushing me but avoiding triggering injury. Working a variety of muscles, both small and large, and varying the workout from session to session, was much better for me than sticking to the traditional weightlifter’s focus on big muscle groups alone.”

“I first started working with Roy because of his expertise in pre- and postnatal training. Not only did he help me lose the excess pounds that I gained during my two pregnancies, but Roy also provided nutritional guidance that was simple and easy to permanently incorporate into my diet. As a result, I am in the best physical shape that I have ever been in, and I have more energy to get me through long days of working part-time and keeping up with my children in the afternoons and evenings. After we achieved my initial goal, I was impressed by the way Roy was able to adapt my personal training program to help me develop and maintain the skills I need to be successful in my Krav Maga training. He also personalizes my training on a day-to-day basis to address any specific issues or interests that I may have. He is constantly seeking my input and is always concerned about my satisfaction with our training. I would highly recommend Roy to anyone seeking a personal trainer who is extremely knowledgeable in his field, goal-oriented and fun to work with.”

“I have been working with Roy for about 1 1/2 years during which we have focused on my posture and general strengthening. Roy has helped my focus on improving my posture not only during workouts but also throughout the day. He has created workouts that are specific to my needs and goals. Roy has also helped with ordering equipment for my home gym, he is always able to find what I need. If you are looking for a trainer or someone to help improve your home gym, Roy is great to work with.”

“At all costs I wanted to avert Osteoporosis as well as avoid taking the conventional medications. Under Roy’s guidance and training with him a very diligent 3 times per week, we embarked on a weight-bearing program designed with this goal in mind. A Dexa Bone Scan, one year later, revealed that a 3% gain in bone density had been achieved and what a celebration that was and still is! The endocrinologist was even amazed.
I have come to know Roy quite well. He is a true professional, is committed to his clients goals, has a wonderful sense of humor, is a true gentleman and is willing to give of himself over and beyond the call of duty quite unselfishly.”

“I have been working with Roy for about 1 year now. When we started I was about 1 1/2 months away from getting married, and my wife and I wanted to get in shape for our wedding. We were referred to Roy by a friend who worked with him before her wedding and she had some awesome results. Roy set me up on an eating strategy that made sense, it wasn’t the easiest of things to do at times but was not bad by any means. Between working out with him twice a week, following his eating plan and his cardio strategy, I lost some pretty good body fat before the wedding. My wife and I made significant change within that month and a half and we were happy.
I continued to work with Roy when we got back from our honeymoon, and since then he has been helping me understand and work around some knee pain. I am very active, I ski, play beach volleyball, and am in a Master’s swim class and am very competitive so I can’t let my knee hold me back. Working with Roy has reduced my knee pain and increased my range of motion around my hip, knee and ankle. I have noticed improvements inside and outside of the gym. There is a significant decrease in knee discomfort after activities, I am quicker on the sand, I am better at all of my lower body movements (which was difficult because of knee pain and inflexibility).
I would strongly suggest working with Roy if you are interested in being challenged in a non traditional way. He is able to constantly challenge me while keeping my knee in mind.”
